ABOUT YANA LAPIKOVA
Yana Lapikova started to work as a photojournalist in the University time. Later she became interested in portraits much later when Yana felt the need to create, and not just document and state facts. YANA LAPIKOVA: "For me, a portrait is much more than just a technically and compositionally correct picture. A portrait is an opportunity to tell a small story about the big inner world of this person. The most difficult thing for me was to give up the habit of being a photojournalist. For example, even today, when I shoot a portrait, I always wait for the golden moment when the person will relax and stop posing (the model will think or be distracted by something, or even become sad or tired). It is in these seconds that the coolest photos are obtained!"
